At the Portland International Airport (PDX) in 2019, our Quantem team received a call asking us to showcase our capabilities to a potential new customer. The customer had highly sensitive cargo that needed to be handled with extreme care. In an effort to expand their market, they asked us to run a test flight to assess how we perform.
At 3:00 a.m., with a crew of ramp agents, leads, and supervisors, our Quantem PDX team went to work. The cargo was so delicate that even the slightest shock (3 Gs) would render it damaged – it was an extraordinarily delicate process. With the utmost care, the crew padded their dollies, and drove the cargo at no more than a slow walking pace to the warehouse where it was loaded onto specialty air trailers. The customer representatives were extremely pleased with our care of their cargo – sharing that we exceeded their expectations in every way! We are proud to say this relationship is still going strong.
