The lobster industry contributes approximately $1 billion annually to Maine’s economy, so the health of lobsters, the ecology, and the waterways is critical to local communities.
In 2009, to help protect Maine’s Casco Bay and the state’s second largest industry, Inland designed, built, and continues to operate an aircraft deicing fluid recovery and recycling facility at the Portland International Jetport (PWM). Our program reduces environmental impacts to the Fore River and its tributaries, as well as offers cost reductions for stormwater discharge.
Inland was able to increase fluid recovery at PWM to 75% of the glycol sprayed. This innovative and comprehensive facility now provides recycling services to seven locations along the East Coast.
