The lobster industry contributes approximately $1 billion annually to Maine’s economy, so the health of lobsters, the ecology, and the waterways is critical to local communities.
In 2009, to help protect Maine’s Casco Bay and the state’s second largest industry, Inland designed, built, and continues to operate an aircraft deicing fluid recovery and recycling facility at the Portland International Jetport (PWM). Our partnership has reduced environmental impacts to the Fore River and its tributaries, as well as offers cost reductions for stormwater discharge.
Inland was able to increase fluid recovery at PWM of the glycol sprayed. This regional hub now provides recycling services to seven locations along the East Coast.
